Patrick Davison


Patrick is a senior environmental and waste management practitioner with over 25 years experience of consultancy within the waste management and recycling sector. He has advised a variety of clients (public and private) on matters relating to European, National (UK) and Regional policy and legislation for waste management, recycling and compliance. He has both led and participated in many high profile research projects at a company and sector level, including the establishment of both Eire’s and the UK’s End of Life Vehicle recycling protocols, the UK’s steel packaging, the initial WEEE recycling protocols and BREF guidance for Metal Shredding. He is a Cranfield School of Management alumni, Full Member of The Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (MIEMA) and The Chartered Institute of Waste Management (CIWM) a Chartered Environmentalist as well as a Lead Auditor across ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO27001 standards. He has assisted various organisations with the design and implementation of systems to meet the aforementioned standards and is an accomplished Assessor/Trainer, delivering accredited and non-accredited qualifications including WAMITAB technical Competence. Other projects include organisational initiatives, waste classification, recycling yield optimisation and operational and process design.

David Pocklington

Senior Environmental Consultant

After graduating in Geological Sciences, David started his career at the Environment Agency regulating and enforcing waste management sites. Four years later he joined Mayer Environmental as a consultant to the waste management and metal recycling industries. Projects have included obtaining planning permission and environmental permits for waste management operations, conducting environmental monitoring and audits, undertaking hazardous waste classifications and providing government guidance on end-of-life vehicles and waste electrical and electronic equipment.

David is a member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management, an experienced waste management trainer, and a qualified Assessor Trainer for WAMITAB TCM awards.

Any spare time is spent running marathons, playing the guitar, skiing and entertaining his 2 young children.

Rebecca Beddard

Senior Environmental Consultant

Becky has a degree in Environmental Geoscience and has 13 years of experience in the contaminated land sector, 12 of these with Mayer Environmental. She has worked on a wide range of projects throughout her time with Mayer in both Part IIa and planning scenarios. During this time she has gained experience in Phase I Desk Studies, Phase II Site Investigations, Due Diligence, Risk Assessment modelling and Remedial strategies & validation.

Outside of work, when not looking after her young family, Becky enjoys different ends of the exercise spectrum by participating in both yoga and kickboxing.

Saima Mirza

Senior Systems Consultant

Saima is an experienced management systems professional with direct experience of developing, implementing and auditing management systems to support organisations through their journey to successfully achieving ISO certification and to continually improve as a business.
Saima is a Chartered Quality Professional and IRCA Certificated Lead Auditor fully qualified in education and training with over 10 years experience in ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 / (OHSAS 18001) and ISO 27001. Saima has facilitated numerous management systems implementation projects that have resulted in significant operational and business improvements.
Saima has experience with a wide range of software applications and specialises in the development of integrated management system (IMS). She develops bespoke process based solutions utilising user-friendly platforms to access documentation efficiently. The development and implementation of an IMS has continually proven to be effective, through the integration of various requirements i.e. Quality, Environment, Health & Safety within organisations. Saima recently lead a successful ISO re-certification assessment for one of our largest clients and facilitated the reduction of audit days by introducing an IMS and demonstrating continual improvement. This resulted in a substantial 40% cost saving to the organisation, ensuring a high level of quality and performance is achieved.
Saima delivers ISO awareness workshops and training tailored to meet the needs of each organisation, based on her own experience of implementing and auditing various management systems.
Saima leads and conducts professional management system audits, manages third party contracts and acts as point of contact with certification bodies.
Through collation of performance reports and audit programmes including analysis of internal and external non-conformances, she is able to identify trends that encourage evidenced based decision making within organisations for continual improvement prioritisation.
