The new contaminated land regime requires the risk assesment of sites using a source-pathway-receptor model.
This involves the identification and characterisation of the source, the exposure pathway, and the impact on a receptor.
This may be acheived by undertaking a desk study and/or environmental assesment and an intrusive site investigation.
Mayer Environmental carry out qualitative and quantitative risk assessments using specialist software systems combined with our experience to:
- Discover the impact of a potentially contaminated site to local receptors.
- Develop remediation criteria to prevent a remediated site impacting on local receptors
- Design solutions to enable re-development
- Measure the risks associated with buying or selling land
